HipHop Academy & Ensemble Resonanz

String ensemble meets hip-hop crew: inspired by Igor Stravinsky’s ballet Apollon musagète, the musicians of Ensemble Resonanz collaborate with artists from the HipHop Academy to create the crossover project Masters of Ceremony.

Together, they explore what this 1928 ballet — in which the god Apollo encounters three muses — can mean today, and develop new music from the original material.

The interplay of breakdance, rap, and string music generates a powerful and unexpected performance, brought to life through staging, scenography, and visuals.
