Anne Hofmann

Anne Hofmann was born in Berlin in 1973. Initially, she took violin lessons before switching to the double bass at age 14. Her first teacher Wolfgang Zell inspired her to take up double bass studies with Prof. Barbara Sanderling at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin in 1992.

After receiving her diploma, she continued her studies with Prof. Wolfgang Güttler in Karlsruhe. Her main area of interest has always been chamber music. In 1997, she joined Ensemble Resonanz as principal bass player. In addition, she is a frequent guest at the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Ensemble Modern, musikFabrik NRW and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. In 2003, she assumed the position of principal double bass player at the Kammerakademie Potsdam / Ensemble Oriol Berlin. Anne Hofmann lives in Potsdam with her son.
